Mrs. Brenda Kirkland Parks

Mrs. Brenda Kirkland Parks, 79, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, April 20, 2022.

She was born Feb. 25, 1943, in Ellijay, to the late Johnie and Dorothy Virginia Corn Kirkland.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay. She graduated from Gilmer High School in 1961.

She was a devout Christian who enjoyed traveling with family. She loved to read her Bible and be an encouragement to others.

She is preceded in death by sister Glenda K. Bridges; and brother, J.D. Kirkland.

She is survived by husband of 57 years, Bill Parks; daughters and son-in-law, Shana Parks, Sheree and Jason Hyde, all of Ellijay; granddaughter, Jaciana Hyde; sisters, Ginger Salle’, of Canton, Nanette and Ronald Knight, Beverly and Tommy Prince, all of Ellijay, Trish Kirkland, of Flowery Branch; brothers, Jimmie Kirkland, of San Francisco, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2022, at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Josh Moyers, Brother Doug Hall, the Rev. Scott Eaton and the Rev. John Bramlett officiating.

Pallbearers were  Derek Mackey, Mike Bridges,  Tommy Prince, Chris Crump, John Bramlett and Steven Hyde.

Donations can be made to the Christian Learning Center in memory of Mrs. Parks.
