Mrs. Annie Lois Wells Dover
Mrs. Annie Lois Wells Dover, 85, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at the Northside Hospital Cherokee in Canton.
She was born June 25, 1932, in Ellijay, to the late James Ruel and Essie Mae Sales Wells.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ellijay. She graduated from Ellijay High School, class of 1950, and graduated from North Georgia College in 1954. She was a retired educator, having worked as a teacher and librarian for the Gilmer County School System for over 30 years.
She is preceded in death by husband, Greer Dover; and sister, Elizabeth Wells Gudger.
She is survived by daughter, Betty Dover, of Ball Ground; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Leigh Ann Dover, of Ellijay; grandchildren and in-law, Shelly Goble, Stuart and Sandy Goble, James Dover and Jason Dover; great-grandchildren, William C. Goble and Wesley Kay Goble; sisters and brothers-in-law, Christen W. Johnson, of Norcross, Helen and Howard Winslett, Shirley and Roger Edmondson, all of Ellijay, and Peggy and Mike Ridgewell, of Woodstock; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Shirley Wells, of Ellijay.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, from the First Baptist Church of Ellijay with the Rev. James Holt officiating.
Music was by the First Baptist Church Choir and the Rev. Scott Eaton.
Pallbearers were Joe Wells, Steve Wells, Greg Wells, Michael Edmondson, Mark Edmondson, Terry Johnson, Joe Hill and Lee Winslett.
Interment was in the Ellijay City Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Ellijay Building Fund, 164 Dalton Street, Ellijay, GA 30540, in memory of Mrs. Dover.
