Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Perry Bice, 92, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at her residence.

She was born April 15, 1930, in Gilmer County, to the late Howard Perry and Ida May Simmons Perry.

She was a graduate of North Georgia College where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry.

She served as a lab and X-ray supervisor in the Chattanooga area for several years and was the owner of the Chattanooga Plating Company. Most recently, she is remembered as a beloved and faithful Bible teacher.

She was a member of the Nine Mile Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by husband, James Wallace Bice.

She is survived by son, Samuel Jacob Cash, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; daughters, Barbara Ellen Leslie, Beverley Ann Hardeman, both of Ellijay, and Rachel Susie Kezh, of Decatur; brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Betty Jo Perry, of Ellijay; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 2,  2022, from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home.
