Judith Mae Reese Godowns

Ms. Judith Mae Reese Godowns, 84, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022, at AccentCare Hospice Center in Cumming.

She was born Feb. 8, 1938, in Effingham, Ill., to the late Gerald Robert Reese and Glenda Juanita Goodbrake Reese. She worked as a caterer. She served as a sergeant in the United States Army.

She is survived by son, Robert Mark Godowns; daughters, Glenda Godowns, Teri (Travis) Lavender, Savanna (Max) Thomas and Lisa Evans; grandchildren, Brandon (Sarah) Ausband, Nathan Lavender, Jessica Brown and Amanda Webb; and great-grandchildren, Grayson Ausband, Jace Ausband, Amileaya McMorran, Elowyn Brown and Fiona Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Yukon Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving will be Brandon Ausband, Travis Lavender and Max Thomas.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers, food will be accepted or donations can be made to the American Lung Association in memory of Ms. Godowns.
