Jean Horton Oliver

Mrs. Jean Horton Oliver, 82, of Jefferson, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022.

She was born Aug. 3, 1939, in Shoal Creek, N.C..  She was a graduate of Gilmer County High School and was retired from Gwinnett Hospital System at Joan Glancy as a central supply technician over 38 years. She was a member of Gravel Springs Baptist Church in Buford and was attending Pond Fork Baptist Church in Jefferson.

She is preceded in death by  husband of 57 years, Johnny H. Oliver.

She is survived by children, Cindy (Mark) Halloran, of Seguin, Texas, John (Hope) Oliver, of Jefferson; grandchildren, Holly Parker, of Chespeake, Va., Anita Parker,
of Jefferson, Hannah (Dustin) Sloan, of Auburn, John Oliver III, of Jefferson;  great-grandchildren, Olivia Parker, Ridge Sloan, Bowman Sloan; brother, Elton (Phyllis) Horton, of Elijay; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, with the Rev. Johnny Knight officiating.

Interment was at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens.
