Mr. James H. ‘’Jimmy” Sellers, 81, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019.

He was born Oct. 25, 1938,  in Cherokee County, to the late Paul and Mary Jo Ray Sellers. He was a 1956 graduate of Gilmer High School, and a 1961 graduate of the University of North Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in business. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army and was a licensed insurance and real estate agent.

He is survived by wife, Judy Sellers; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeremy and Jennifer Sellers, and Jared Sellers, all of Ellijay, Joe and Kellie Sellers, of Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and John Brown, of Dallas; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Donald Reece, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Garrett Sellers, Taylor Sellers, Adam Sellers and Paul Sellers.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Chastain and Stacey Nicholson officiating. 

Music was by Teresa Chastain and Diane DeHart. 

Pallbearers were Garrett Sellers, Matt Chastain, Luke Chastain, Frank Elliott, Austin Lacey and Tim Pritchett. 

Honorary pallbearer was Donald Reece.  

Interment was in the Yukon Cemetery.
