Jack ‘Wayne’ Sales

Mr. Jack “Wayne” Sales, 80, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020. 

He was born Jan. 5, 1940, in Ellijay, to the late Carl Brant and Oma Hill Sales. 

He was a member of Nine Mile United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening and riding his tractors. 

He is preceded in death by sister, Marjorie Chance; brother, Billy Sales; father-in-law, Ray Hyde; and sister-in-law, Margie DeFoor Sales. 

He is survived by wife of 53 years, Sandra Sales, of Ellijay; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Dr. Terry Wimpey, of Athens; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Melisa Sales, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Hunter Wimpey and Mati Teague; sisters, Edna Sales Sanford, of Ellijay; brother, Hill Sales, of Ellijay; mother-in-law, Buren Sumner Hyde, of Ellijay; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol Sales and Rayson Chance; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, at Nine Mile United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sam Burcham and the Rev. Kim Dunn officiating.

Pallbearers were Scott Sales, Terry Wimpey, J.W. Chastain, Edward Chance, Ricky Wimpey and Mack Logan.
