Huey Reed

Mr. Huey Reed, 72, of Ellijay, died Sunday, Dec.15, 2019.

He was born March 25, 1947, in Dawson County, to the late Isaac and Imogene McClure Reed. He worked as a fence builder and was  a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. 

He is preceded in death by son, Tim Reed; and brothers, Tommy Reed and Cleveland Reed.

He is survived by son, Freddy Reed, of Jasper; daughters, Michelle Miller and Beverly Denise Reed, both of Ellijay; sisters and brother-in-law, Melba and James Edwards, of Dawsonville, Daisy Poole, of Ellijay, Mildred Reed, of Talking Rock, Betty Sue Reed, of Ellijay; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Jonathan Edwards and the Rev. Randy Cloer officiating. 

Music was by Dusty and Trina Reynolds and James Sanders and Family. 

Pallbearers were Johnny McCard, Gator Butler, Joe Edwards, Ray Reece, James Edwards and Shane Edwards.  

Interment was in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
