Eddie L. Gilmore
Mr. Eddie L. Gilmore, 50, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018.
He was born Feb. 25, 1967, in Polk County, Tenn. He graduated from Copper Basin High School, was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Fannin County, had a degree in law enforcement and worked in law enforcement for many years working with the Ellijay Police Department.
He is survived by wife, Cheryl Gilmore; sons, Eddie Gilmore Jr., of Blue Ridge, Justin Webb, of Ellijay; daughters, Kayla Gilmore, of Blue Ridge, Brooke Gilmore, of Ellijay; mother, Barbara Curtis, of Ellijay; father, Roger Davis, of Athens, Tenn.; adopted father, Archie Gilmore, of Sweetwater, Tenn.; brothers, John and Shena Gilmore, of Loudin, Tenn., Tim Self, of Athens, Tenn.; sister, Tina Harry, of Blue Ridge; three grandchildren, Rylan Gilmore, Adisyn Gilmore and Gracelyn Gilmore; grandmother, Polly Davis, of Asheville, N.C.; father-in-law, James Cudd; brother-in-law, Bruce Cudd; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Richards, and Pam Saucedo, all of Calhoun; aunts, Betty Hunter, Carolyn Gillespie, Ruth Davis, niece, Nikki Gilmore; and great-nephew, Jaiden Gilmore.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Stover and the Rev. Mark Butler officiating.
Pallbearers were Thomas Jackson, Rusty Walker, Pete Kusek, Larry Callihan, Stacy Nicholson and Ricky Henry.
Honorary pallbearers were Phillip Couch, Gary Sutton, Roger Tipton, Kevin Dall, members of the Appalachian Traffic Network Enforcement and other area law enforcement members.
Interment was in the Yukon Cemetery.
