Mr. Clyde Leroy Mullinax, 94, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019. 

He was born Jan. 1, 1925, in Ellijay, to the late Arvil McKinley and Lillie Elizabeth (Woody) Mullinax. He served honorably in the U.S. Army in France during World War II. For injuries sustained in combat, he was awarded the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He was a member and former deacon of the Ellijay Church of Christ and was a lifelong farmer. 

He is preceded in death by daughter, Arbradella Mullinax; sisters, Ventalee Mulkey, Audra Cantrell, Christine Skello; brothers, James Mullinax, Claude Mullinax, J.B. Mullinax and Jackie Mullinax.

He is survived by wife of 73 years, Wylene (Clark) Mullinax, of Ellijay; son and daughter-in-law, Eddy and Suzanne Mullinax, of Ellijay; granddaughter, Michelle Mullinax, of Ashville, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Corbin Deacon, Quinn Sforza and Irie Rose Chapman; sister, Pauline Mullinax, of Ellijay; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Butch Jones and Minister Jeremy Green officiating.

Congregational singing was led by Jim Wright. 

Military honors were held in the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with rites performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard. 

Interment followed in  the Cartecay United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were deacons of the Ellijay Church of Christ.

Honorary pallbearers were Tim Hall, Barry Kingsley, Curtis Kingsley, John Painter, Mark Pettit, Alan Hall, Hollis Lowman and Jack Stanley.
