Bobby Lee Newton

Mr. Bobby Lee Newton, 74, of Ellijay, died Thursday, May 26, 2022, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 25, 1947, in Gilmer County, to the late Arthur Newton and Leola Worley Newton.

He worked in construction where he was employed by Ruel Hice and proudly served our country in Vietnam in the United States Army.

He is preceded in death by brothers, Eugene Newton, Herbert Newton, Bill Newton and Ernest Newton; and sister, Mae Bell Hice.

He is survived by wife, Aletha Hedden Newton; son and daughter-in-law, Robby and Mandy Newton, of Hiawassee; daughters, Charley and Tonya Boyd, Lisa Newton and Mary Newton, all of Ellijay; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren also survive.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery.
