Bobbie Victor Armstrong
Mr. Bobbie Victor Armstrong, 89, of Ellijay, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, at his residence.
He was born March 15, 1928, in Parkersburg, W.Va., to the late Dennis Struman Armstrong and Garnet Gertrude Grimm Armstrong. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Ellijay. He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, class of 1946. He was a career Marine, serving during World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
He is preceded in death by wife, Lois Anita Gregory Armstrong.
He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Kathlene and Robert Strock, of Sutton, Ohio, Vickie and Gary Bickler, of Jacksonville, Fla., Donna Jean Ratliff, of Baton Rouge, La., Anita Settles, of Blue Ridge, Kay and Jody Gorman, of St. Augustine, Fla., and Peggy Davis, of Vidalia; son, Brian Armstrong, of Ellijay; and several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Clarice Hellburg, of Kissimmee, Fla., Sue and Melvin Burkey, of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Mary and Karl Snider, of Belpre, Ohio; brother, Dennis R. Armstrong, of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, from the Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Smedley officiating.
Music was by Ellen Ottinger.
Graveside inurnment was at the Hope Lutheran Church Columbarium with military graveside rites performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
