Mr. Bill Key, 87, of Ellijay, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016.
He was born in Gilmer County in 1929.
He is preceded in death by parents, Jacob and Della Miller Key; brothers, Clyde E. Key and Winston O. Key.
He is survived by wife, Pat Key; daughter, Lee Key-Brenton; son-in-law, Rennie L. Brenton; grandson, Kelsen W. Key, of Jacksonville, Fla.; son, Michael Key; daughter-in-law, Hun Yan Fen Key; granddaughter, Chloe Key, of Saudi Arabia.
He was a teacher in Metro-Nashville, Tenn., and Gilmer County Schools and retired in 1999. He was also a veteran serving with the U.S. Marine Corps.
Private graveside services will be conducted at the Mt. Pleasant (Buckhorn) Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Georgia Mountains Hospice, 70 Caring Way, Jasper, GA 30143 in memory of Mr. Key.
