Mrs. Bessie Lee Silvers, 92, of Talking Rock, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.

She was born Sept. 5, 1929, in Bartow County, to the late Roy Junkins and Mamie Blankenship Junkins. She worked at the Pickens Footwear Plant and was the oldest serving member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Oakman. She loved gardening, canning and her family.

She is preceded in death by husband, T.J. Silvers; son, Emmett Silvers and brother, Joe Junkins.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Eldridge and Dorothy Silvers, of Ellijay; daughter, Eva Lee Howell, of Talking Rock; sister, Pearl Nolan, of Dalton; and three grandchildren, Alma Lee Silvers, Nathan (Kirsten) Silvers and Gloria (Patrick) Walker.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Cheathem officiating.

Interment was in the Berean Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Nathan Silvers, Danny Buckner, Lloyd Junkins, James Walker, Patrick Walker and Joe Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers were Clinton Smith and Daryl Silver.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
