Bernice Cleola Barnes

Mrs. Bernice Cleola Barnes, 78, of Ellijay, died Monday, May 23, 2022.

She was born Jan. 30, 1944, to the late Cleve Akinson and Lillie Elanor (Corbin) Barnes in Ellijay.

She was a member of Tails Creek Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was a graduate of Gilmer High School in 1961. She also retired from Hampton Mills and Davenport Hosiery Mill.

She is survived by sister, Ollie Barnes Sales, of Acworth; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and sister-in-law Helen James Barnes, of Ellijay.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sammy Adams, the Rev. Eddie Kerr and the Rev. Brondy Davis officiating.

Pallbearers were Charles Crook, Scott Barnes, Darin Barnes, Mike Barnes, Mitch Barnes, Jeff Baxter, Tracy Abercrombie, Leon McClure, Byron Abercrombie, Ronnie Abercrombie and Jerry Baxter.

Donations can be made to the Tails Creek Baptist Church Cemetery fund in memory of Bernice Barnes c/o Tracy Abercrombie.
