Barbara Ann Elliott Defoor

Mrs. Barbara Ann Elliott Defoor, 72, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

She was born Aug. 10, 1949, in Gilmer County, to the late Jimmy Elliott and Louise Hollifield Elliott. She was employed by the Conoco Gas Station in Ellijay and worked as a cashier. She always had a warm and welcoming smile. She was a member of East Ellijay Baptist Church.

She is survived by sons, Lamar Elliott, Steven Johnson and Joe Weaver, all of Ellijay; daughter, Lisa Eckenrode, of Washington state; brother, Jimmy Stephen Elliott, of Ellijay; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three nephews and numerous friends.

Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2022, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Pastor Irene Wofford and the Rev. Pat Shelton officiating.

Interment will follow in Yukon Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lamar Elliott, Steve Elliott, Joe Weaver, Les Elliott and Todd Stephens.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 15, 2022, from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour of 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Flowers are accepted; however, the family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home.
