Audrey Mildred Van Tassell

Mrs. Audrey Mildred Van Tassell, 88, of Blue Ridge, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022, at Life Care Center of Copper Basin in Ducktown, Tenn.

She was born in Yonkers, N.Y. Sept. 19, 1934, to the late George and Grace Becker. She was a Witness of Jehovah for nearly 66 years and a full-time minister for the last 38 years.

She is preceded in death by husband, Norman Van Tassell Sr.; brothers, William Becker and Martin Becker; and son, Norman Van Tassell Jr.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Lewis (Maryellen) Van Tassell, of Blue Ridge; daughters and son-in-laws, Cindy (Glen) Durant and Laurel (Dan) Colwell, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Serena (Jared) Egloff, Tisa (Peter) Yuknevich, Travis (Alicia) Van Tassell, Sarah Van Tassell, Tonya (Adam) Chesnowski, Justin (Rachelle) Durant, Evan (Teresa) Van Tassell, Jake Colwell and Colby Colwell; and great-grandchildren, Payne Yuknevich, Reece Van Tassell and Erin Van Tassell.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Blue Ridge.
