Alan Scott ‘Scotty’ Bishop
Mr. Alan Scott “Scotty” Bishop, 57, of Ellijay, formerly of DeKalb County, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018.
He was a 1978 graduate of Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood.
He was owner of Tight Security Systems and was formerly employed at Delta Airlines.
He was a member of the Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce and Gilmer Home Builders Association.
An avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, he also enjoyed golfing, fishing, cooking, sailing on Lake Lanier and crossword puzzles.
He was dedicated to his family and his job. He enjoyed being with friends and customers.
He is preceded in death by parents, Jean and Don Bishop; and brother, Clay Bishop.
He is survived by loving wife, Sabrina Gasaway Bishop; brother, Mike (Cathryn) Bennett, of Acworth; sisters, Sherry (Angel) Sotelo, of Austell, Melinda (Mike) Willis, of Roswell; brothers, Tony (Kathy) Bishop and Brian (Kim) Bishop, all of California; aunt, Jo Butler, of Stone Mountain; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his Chrissy cat.
A celebration of life funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City.
Interment was in the Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.
Pallbearers were Jake House, Brian Bishop, Tony Bishop, Rick Stewart, David Teate, Mark Simms and Angel Sotelo.
Honorary pallbearers were Dave Johnston and Mike Jones.
