Man arrested for allegedly grabbing male’s private parts
A Walnut Mountain man was arrested for a sexual crime after he allegedly grabbed another man’s private parts and then told an officer he had done the same thing to other males, authorities said.
Dylon Kane McClaughlin, 21, of 1831 Walnut Ridge, Apt. 4242, was charged Jan. 9 by the East Elliijay Police Department with one count of sexual battery. The alleged incident, reported by a 24-year-old white male, happened the day before, according to an incident report.
Sgt. Michael McClure said in the report he met the complainant and his mother at East Ellijay City Hall, where the man told him “a co-worker grabbed his (private parts) several times, and the last time was Saturday night (Jan. 6) as they were working.”
McClure said he went to the retail store where McClaughlin worked and asked him about what had been reported, after McClaughlin agreed to talk after being read his Miranda rights.
“While talking to (McClaughlin) he stated to me that he had grabbed (the co-worker’s private parts), and when I asked him why, he stated he was playing a game with him, and he stated he grabbed other people’s (private parts) as well,” McClure said. “I asked him did he grab them after being told to stop. He stated yes, he was playing with them.”
McClure talked to the retail store’s management about any other employees complaining about McClaughlin, and a manager told him two complaints had been filed. McClure said Magistrate Court Judge Roger Kincaid issued a warrant for McClaughlin’s arrest, and he was arrested the next day.
McClaughlin bonded out of the county jail on a $2,500 bond, according to a spokeswoman.
