Mrs. Cleo Sarah Milton
Mrs. Cleo Sarah Milton, 103, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017.
She was born May 30, 1914, in Fannin County, to the late, John Clayton and Vadie Patterson Thomas.
She graduated from Raburn Gap Nachoochee School, worked as a teacher’s aide in Gilmer County schools and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay, where she taught Sunday school for over 25 years.
She is preceded in death by husband, Herbert L. Milton; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Ken Payne.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Mark Kenady, of Roswell; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Carolyn Milton, of Buckhead; grandchildren and spouses, Robin and Kevin Hornsby, Brent and Debra Milton, Dean Payne, Holly Payne, Katie and A.J. Argentia, Matt Abbott, Casey and Brian Price; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. James Holt officiating.
Music was by Bill McVey and Austin O’Neal.
Pallbearers were Brent Milton, Dean Payne, Bobby Hornsby, Tommy Hornsby and Justin Payne.
Interment was in the East Ellijay Church Cemetery.
