Jerry Lee Chambers
Mr. Jerry Lee Chambers Sr., 68, of Ellijay, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 8, 1948, to the late Kenny Samuel and Helen Louise Davis Chambers in Gainesville. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and retired as a general contractor. He loved to work his garden and had a natural “green thumb.”
He is preceded in death by brother, Steve Chambers.
He is survived by wife of 46 years, Joanne Cotton Chambers; daughters and sons-in-law, Desty and Enrique Aguilar, of Gainesville, Sherry and Tommy Branson, of Dalton, Helen and Dylan Pritchard, of Chatsworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott Roberson, of Oakwood, Terry Chambers, of Opp, Ala., Jerry Chambers Jr., of Milton, Fla., “Ricky” Richard and Angie Chambers, of Ellijay; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Seivier, of Waleska, Brenda Sue Hughes, of Sugar Hill; brothers and sister-in-law, David Chambers, of Sugar Hill, Joey and Catherine Chambers, of Dawsonville; brother-in-law, Robert Cotton, of Nicholson; sister-in-law, Amanda Webster, of Winder; and special friends, Gus and Lorene Logan.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, from the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Brandon Kent and the Rev. Jamie Kerr officiating.
Interment followed in the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Kent, Derrick Hamby, Terry Chambers, John Sisson, Joshua Elliott, David Marlow, Dylan Pritchard and Victor Ramos.
