Bond selected to Olympic development program
Chandler Bond, a member of the Gilmer Soccer Club, has been named to the Under 16 Georgia Soccer Olympic Development Program.
He is one of 40 Georgia players in his age group to participate.
Bond, 15, is goalkeeper for Gilmer Soccer Club and attends Fannin County High School.
“It’s remote he’ll make it to the Olympics, but at least it’s now a possiblity,” said his father, Dr. Robert Bond who has a medical office in Ellijay.
The Olympic Development Program was created by U.S. Soccer some 25 years ago to identify national team players early at the youth level and provide development opportunities for those potential national team players.
