Tuso running for GOP chair
Jerry Tuso has announced his candidacy for the position of chairman of the Gilmer County Republican Party, as well as his intent to serve as a delegate to the Georgia 9th District GOP Convention on Saturday, April 22, and the State GOP Convention, June 2 – 3.
All elections will be held on March 14 at the Gilmer County GOP Convention.
Tuso, who has served as the 1st vice chairman of the Gilmer GOP for seven years, was asked why he was running for the position.
“Basically, to bring maturity and stability to the board,” he said.
“I’m very interested in the continued growth of the GOP in Gilmer County, with the emphasis on youth and others who have not participated in bringing Republican values to the forefront.
“Just because we have elected a Republican president doesn’t mean that we can sit back and watch the progressives (Democrats) push forward their liberal agendas. We must be proactive in our determination to strengthen our values of conservatism, and to ensure that we continue to elect Republicans to all elected
