Harrison Park Cleanup Day set

A Harrison Park Clean-up Day has been set for Saturday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The park is located on McCutchen Street across the bridge from Ellijay Primary School.

A release calls for all “trail lovers, path hikers and river waders.”

“As part of a large-scale plan to elevate Harrison Park to its fullest potential as a city amenity, one of many steps includes clearing specific sections so the Ellijay River can be seen from the park’s walking trail,” the release states.

Volunteers can help prune, cut, rake and pick up debris, and the City of Ellijay is providing a chipper.

A local landscape architect is directing the efforts.

Lunch will be provided, so volunteers are requested to confirm their participation so food can be planned accordingly.

Volunteers should RSVP by Nov. 15, if possible, by sending an email to: joann@themartynhouse.com.
