StoryCorps Booth at Gilmer Library through July 7
Everyone has a story, now you can record it for future generations.
StoryCorps Booth will be at the Gilmer County Library through Friday, July 7, during library hours.
By appointment only: 706-635-4528
Our StoryCorps booth gives people of all backgrounds the opportunity to professionally record meaningful conversations and archive the recordings for family and the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.
The heart of StoryCorps is the conversation between people: a son asking his mother about her childhood, an immigrant telling his friend about coming to America or a couple reminiscing on their 50th wedding anniversary. By helping people to connect and talk about the questions that matter, the StoryCorps experience is powerful and sometimes even life changing by reminding us of the importance of listening to and learning from those around us.
Recording at StoryCorps could not be easier:
Invite a friend or two to interview or plan a solo session. Record a maximum 40-minute conversation. Gilmer County Library will take care of the rest. Participants will receive one free digital copy of their recording on CD to share.
