Summer Brooke and the Mountain Faith Band bring their high energy brand of acoustic roots music to Ellijay Friday, Dec. 15, for the first show in the 2017-18 Gilmer Arts B.E.S.T. Series.

B.E.S.T. Series kickoff show rescheduled

The early blast of wintry weather that brought nearly a foot of snow to the Gilmer County area last week caused the first entry in the 2017-18 B.E.S.T. (Bringing Ellijay Sensational Talent) concert series to be rescheduled.

Summer Brooke and the Mountain Faith Band, a young Americana and gospel-influenced bluegrass group from Sylva, N.C., was originally set to perform at the Ellijay Elementary School Auditorium last Saturday, Dec. 9.

The show will go on at the same venue this Friday, Dec. 15, according to concert presenter Gilmer Arts. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets purchased for the Dec. 9 concert will be honored on the 15th.

If anyone has tickets for the Dec. 9 show and can’t make it to Saturday’s rescheduled date, the passes can either be exchanged for tickets to one of this season’s remaining B.E.S.T. Series shows or for a refund.

The organization’s office coordinator, Debbi Friend, said tickets are still on sale for Friday’s show and any that remain can be purchased at the door.

The concert series continues Saturday, Jan. 20, with the downhome acoustic picking and comedy of Three On a String.
