14 arrested in alleged meth ring
The investigation of a methamphetamine distribution “network” has netted 14 arrests and is continuing, according to local and regional authorities.
Agents of the Zell Miller Mountain Parkway Drug Task Force, along with deputies from Gilmer, Pickens and Fannin County Sheriffs’ offices, and officers from Ellijay and Jasper police departments, probation officers and district attorney investigators conducted a “round-up” operation on Sept. 6, serving arrest warrants on individuals involved in the ongoing methamphetamine investigation.
Thirteen individuals were taken into custody and have been charged with conspiracy to violate the Georgia controlled substances act (VGCSA) and use of a communication device to facilitate a drug transaction.
