‘Dynamic’ country duo at Link playhouse Saturday
Historic downtown Ellijay’s newest venue, the George Link Jr. Gilmer Arts Playhouse, will host the dynamic duo Bobby Randall and Melissa Lee at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, with a picnic atmosphere.
The playhouse will sponsor “Picnic at the Playhouse” for those who want to purchase a table at a discount and bring tasty foods and beverages. Nearby eatery Back Porch Bistro is offering a special menu for those who want to preorder their dinner to pick up before the show.
Randall and Lee announced that, on Friday, Sept. 15, they’ve scheduled miniconcerts for 12:15 p.m. at Gilmer High School and 2 p.m. at Clear Creek Middle School.
The Bobby Randall Band is a well-established country music act. Imagine the music of Sawyer Brown, Confederate Railroad, the Marshall Tucker Band, Reba McEntire and a tribute to Charlie Daniels all in one concert. The Bobby Randall Band brings that and much more to every show.
Randall was a founding member of the band Sawyer Brown. He played guitar and sang on all of their early hits. He spent the last six years as a member of the outlaw country band Confederate Railroad. He has written songs for the Marshall Tucker Band, Reba McEntire, Sawyer Brown and many other top artists. Randall also has quite an extensive television resume.
Melissa Lee is currently touring with Confederate Railroad. She is an up-and-coming Nashville country music artist to look out for. Lee kicked off 2016 with three sold-out shows at Kewadin Casino in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., as the only female artist in a “tribute to the Grand Ole Opry” show.
She has opened for many national acts including 2015 Academy of Country Music New Artist of the Year winner Cole Swindell, Tyler Farr, The Kentucky Headhunters and Confederate Railroad. She’s also shared stages with artists such as Buddy Jewell and Jeff Carson. Lee performed over 200 shows in 2015 and toured the country with “Girls With Guitars” in 2013-2014.
