James E. Rich

Mr. James E. Rich, 83, of Ellijay, died Monday, May 9, 2022, at Hamilton Medical in Dalton.

He was born Sept. 10, 1938, to the late Roy and Hester Dillard Rich. He was employed by the Pickens County Road Department and was pastor of House of Prayer in Talking Rock.

He is preceded in death by wife, Mary Ann Rich; brother, Rosco Dillard; sisters, Joyce Pendley and Louise Richards.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and J.I. Mayfield, of Talking Rock; grandchildren, Crystal Haygood, Daryl Mayfield; great-grandchildren, Hannah McClure, Haley Miller, Ava Jane Sanders, Chandese Kate Sanders, Trevor McClure; great-great-grandchild, Emery Gene McClure; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were  held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral with the Rev. Bobby Timms officiating.

Music was by the Mashburn Family.

Interment was in the Yukon Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jammie Flower, Jody Flower, Michael Taylor, Jason Taylor, William Marlow and Billy Marlow.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
