Mr. Derek Wayne Hunter Vanover, 27, of Ellijay, died Sunday, May 8, 2022.

He was born Jan. 20, 1995, in Dalton, to Larry Wayne Vanover and Katherine Elizabeth Hunter O’Donnell.

He was a member, deacon and church clerk for Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church in Blue Ridge.

He graduated in 2013 from Gilmer High School and was employed at Mark Chastain Surveying Company in Ellijay.

He is survived by wife, Shyan Brook Vanover; children, Magnolia Rose Vanover, and Titan Hunter Vanover; father, Larry Wayne (Louise) Vanover, of Ellijay; mother, Katherine Elizabeth (David) O’Donnell, of Ellijay; sister, Kelsey (Nate) Carpenter, of Morganton; brothers, Dustin (Shyanne) Vanover, Dawson Vanover, Blake Roberts, all of Ellijay; grandparents, Joe (Eudell) Vanover and Patsy Oliver, both of Hazard, Ky.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Logan Funeral Home and Chapel with Elder David Smith officiating.

Pallbearers were Larry Vanover, Dustin Vanover, Dawson Vanover, Jordan Ingram, Nolan Peterson II, Nathanial Carpenter, Joseph Hunter, Nate Carpenter and Blake Roberts.
