A Location and Design Public Information Open House

On Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Gilmer County Public Library, 268 Calvin Jackson Drive, Ellijay, GA 30540, the Georgia Department of Transportation will hold a Public Information Open House concerning the project listed above.
This project proposes to extend State Route (SR) 382 to SR 515 on new location for 0.35 mile. The proposed SR 382 would begin on new location just west of SR 5. A roundabout would be installed where the new roadway crosses SR 5, just south of the existing intersection of SR 382 and SR 5 and the new roadway would then extend in an easterly direction until it connects to SR 515. The typical section would consist of two 12-foot travel lanes with 10-foot shoulders. There would also be two 6.5-foot paved bike lanes designed within the 10-foot shoulders to accommodate bike traffic. The total project length is approximately 0.6 mile.
The purpose of this Location and Public Information Open House is to provide the public with an opportunity to view the project, ask questions, and comment on the project.
The Open House will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. It will be informal, and the public is invited to attend anytime during these hours. There will be no formal presentation. A court reporter will be available to allow the public an opportunity to make verbal comments about the project.

FEDERAL FISCAL YEAR 2017/STATE FISCAL YEAR 2018
The Annual Action Plan is the review of the States goals, objectives, and community and housing priorities for the upcoming year. The FFY 2017/SFY2018 Annual Action Plan is the fifth and final year implementation of the current five-year (2013-2017) Consolidated Plan. The Plan indicates how the anticipated funds received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will be implemented for the following programs: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA), and the National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF) Programs.
The Plan draft includes goals of the priorities, citizen participation/consultation, housing needs assessment for the homeless, and the investment of resources to meet these needs and any minor amendments. It also provides a strategy for meeting the identified needs, addressing barriers to fair housing and lead-based paint hazards, non-housing community development plans, and anti-poverty strategies. The State of Georgia encourages all of its citizens, public agencies and other interested parties to review the contents of the Annual Action Plan and submit their written comments to the agency.
